Toys for Babies As They Grow

As a first time mom, it is hard to know what to register for or purchase for your baby as far as toys. I am going to share what toys worked for us at different ages thus far. I will keep updating this post according to age and new toys that we discover. Don't forget books! Start with the Softbooks. They are really great for the entire first year! We use them still when we go out to eat to distract Bobby! Again, I do not get paid for anything and these are toys we really love. Please add some suggestions of toys that worked for your babies to share with others!

  • 7-8 Months. This Musical Lion Walker we got as a gift has been awesome. You can have the baby play with it when they are sitting down when they are younger and it makes as great practice once the baby is standing or starts walking. The V-Tech Sit to Stand Walker is also another great option. This Leapfrog Alphabet Zoo is one of his favorites! He spins and spins and claps afterwards. He loves balls, anything he can pull himself up on, me reading books to him, his talking puppy from Fischer Price and all toys that are an action/reaction toy. Once your baby is crawling, it is time to child proof. Get electrical outlet covers, cabinet locks and make sure there is nothing on the floors or it will go straight in their mouth. Also make sure they cannot reach anything on a table. My son pulls himself up on everything and broke one of my nice vases. Luckily, he was not hurt.

  • 9-12 Months will be coming as we get there! So far, my son goes crazy for this Laugh and Learn Learning Table. He loves to pull himself up on it and it play music, does the alphabet and even says things in Spanish.
